Amritsar to Hemkunt Sahib Holy Tour

Day 1: Amritsar to Rishikesh/Haridwar – Beginning the Spiritual Journey

Your Yatra begins from Amritsar with an early morning drive towards Haridwar or Rishikesh. A taxi can be booked for individuals or small families, while a tempo traveller is ideal for larger groups to travel together comfortably. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and in the evening, attend the sacred Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri or Triveni Ghat. Overnight stay in Haridwar/Rishikesh.

Day 2: Haridwar/Rishikesh to Joshimath – Entering the Himalayas

After breakfast, proceed towards Joshimath, the gateway to Hemkunt Sahib. The drive takes you through Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Karnaprayag—famous confluences of rivers. A rented taxi or tempo traveller ensures a smooth ride with stops at picturesque spots along the route. Arrive in Joshimath by evening and check into your hotel.

Day 3: Joshimath to Govindghat – Start of the Trek

This morning, drive to Govindghat (approx. 22 km). For this short stretch, a taxi or tempo traveller is arranged for convenience. From Govindghat, begin the trek towards Ghangaria (around 13 km). Ponies and porters are also available for assistance. Reach Ghangaria by evening and stay overnight at a guesthouse or hotel.

Day 4: Ghangaria to Hemkunt Sahib – Sacred Darshan

Wake up early to start the trek to Hemkunt Sahib (approx. 6 km uphill). Surrounded by snow-clad peaks and a glacial lake, the Gurudwara is one of the holiest Sikh shrines. After offering prayers and spending some peaceful time, trek back to Ghangaria. Overnight stay at Ghangaria.

Day 5: Ghangaria to Govindghat – Return Trek

Trek down from Ghangaria to Govindghat. A taxi or tempo traveller is available at Govindghat to transfer you comfortably to Joshimath or Pipalkoti for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Joshimath/Pipalkoti to Rishikesh/Haridwar – Descending the Hills

After breakfast, drive back towards Rishikesh or Haridwar. Tempo travellers and taxis make this long journey more relaxed with plenty of breaks for food and sightseeing. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and rest.

Day 7: Rishikesh/Haridwar to Amritsar – Completing the Yatra

On the final day, drive back to Amritsar with your rented taxi or tempo traveller. Arrive by evening with cherished memories of the divine Hemkunt Sahib Yatra.
